I have a pc over 10 years old which I use for keeping some important information which I have been so far unable to transfer to my new pc - reasons I won't go into here. My problem is it won't boot up - at least I am told this is the problem. The hard disc is an Elonex PC433 and holds MS-DOS 6.2 with Microsoft Windows for Workgroups Version 3.1 - I said it was old! When I turn the computer on, instead of getting the Windows screen I get, first, a screen with the copyright info. for MR BIOS V1.46 etc. and the message to press any key to continue, second a blue screen headed MR BIOS with a series of menus and at the bottom options to Abort or Save & Exit and if I press one of these I get the message "Boot Failure - No Boot Device configured".
I am a dummy when it comes to programming matters so then I panicked! However, I was told not to worry as all my info. was still there but the computer couldn't find it and that I needed a reboot disc to solve my problems. The only trouble is I don't know which disc and where/how to get hold of it.
Can anybody please help as I desperately need to access the information stored? Is there someone out there that can save this poor, traumatised lady??
