Thanks Goku! Just bought a pattern battery for my VAIO and was having the same problem with Sony's dialogue box popping up after installing the new battery. Have tweaked msconfig to cut out Sony's big brother spy and all is well so thanks Goku! Where would we be without clever people on forums like these?! :D
