Thanks Dalo, Trouble is if i have that monitor on i cant do anything graphics card is nvidia Gforce 9500gt i think. Update on problem, it just gets stranger! Just rebooted PC with the old monitor hooked up and it booted up but only half of my desktop picture appeared but everything else was fine! When i changed desktop pic then changed it back again it was all fine again! Now i'm wondering if there is something wrong with graphics card but it seems to run fine now i just dont get it at all. I'm even more unsure about spendin £150 on a new monitor now! Anyone got any thoughts?

Hi guys wonder if anyone can shed a little light on whats going on with my monitor. I have an LG Flatron l227wtp which has been fine until recently. When i reboot my PC the monitor wont come back on, the screen stays black and the power light just blinks, then with loads of reboots and messing around i've managed to get it working. If i reboot PC but turn monitor off first its fine! I returned to my PC earlier this week and the PC had auto rebooted and i cant get it to come back on at all now. I had tried the monitor with different cables, no change and i have put another old (very small and very square!!!) monitor on the same cables as originally and it works fine. I gues what i'd like to know is has it died or is it worth trying to fix? If i have to get a knew one i'm thinking Iiyama ProLite E2407HDS but i could do with out the cost to be honest. Cheers any thoughts much appreciated.

It's ok guys I have discovered what the problem is and I now feel a complete idiot!!!! At the risk of embarrassing myself I will share with you what caused su h horrific and confusing problems just in case anyone is as daft as me!! The Alt Gr button was stuck down!! That's it all that angst and two hours of my time and it was a sticky Alt Gr keys!!!!! I hate computers as they make me feel silly way too often! Thanks

Help!!! My pc seems to have gone very strange! All was fine and working well, came home and oddly when I double clicked a desktop icon instead of opening it brought up the properties box instead. When I try to open the app from the start menu I sometimes can and sometimes the all programmer menu comes up then disappears. If I open up a browser , any of four, it opens but I cant type in any search or address bars the keyboard appears connected but it won't type anywhere apart from once it typed vowels only but not in English!! I have scanned with Norton and windows defender nothing! I am stuck on my iPhone for now but I can get email. If it was a keyboard issue why is there a prob with shortcuts not working? Also in any browser if I try to open a bookmark it goes to save file in my pictures!! Can't type in the RUN box either I don' t know what else to do I am stumped
