So gutted, my HP DV9000 just slid off the arm of the chair and landed right where the power jack connects. Part of the jack plug is stuck inside the socket and I can't get it out.
I tried to plug it back in before I realised what the damage what and it made a sound which I can only describe as 'electrical', and now it won't power on even though the battery is okay. No lights, no sounds!
Have I fried something permanently and if so would I be able to replace the parts myself? I have some experience building desktops ages ago and replacing HDDs, RAM etc. but no expert.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction, having to post from my tiny ideapad!
