  1. Hi, I'm about to go mad! I am on my second XP pro install. In the last, I was installing daemon tools which required a restart. My pc wouldn't restart and I had to do it via the power button, bad, I know. On start-up, the taskbar had disappeared and I had to reboot (again the power button). I slected 'last known configuration that worked. Windows opened and looked fine until I realised that half my programs were apparently missing. I looked in C programs and they were there but could not be accessed through all programs. Some desktop shortcuts had also disappeared as had some window install items such as games. I decided that I had somehow damaged the reistry and I carried out another new install. This looked perfect and was running well until I installed power iso which required a reboot. It rebooted perfectly but when windows opened......again a lot of programs aren't showing up in START-all programs! Power iso and everything else is in the programs folder but I want to access it the normal way. Also shortcuts for Google earth and Apps have gone. Some windows apps have gone as well! On the previous install I tried 5 different dates to do a system restore but they all failed. Does anyone know what is going on, please? Thanks in advance.......
  2. Thanks, I think I've spent to long on this, I'll return it to Amazon, I had taken photo with my DSLR but I think they've been deleted. I've packed the card up now, shame....thanks!
  3. First I installed the radeon drivers First I installed the radeon drivers after uninstalling the nvidia drivers, shut down and then connected the card, booted up but same blue screen. I then uninstalled all graphics drivers and booted up only to see the windows new hardware screen but just when I try to make use of that- blue screen again!!!
  4. Hi, I have an Intel Core 2 duo e6400 running on xp pro with all correct updates. I've taken out my nvidia 7600GS and tried to install a Sapphire Radeon 4850 but without much success. I've uninstalled the Invidia drivers and put the radeon card in, the pc boots into windows, runs for a few seconds but then momentarily changes to a blue screen which mentions a new hardware problem before restarting the whole thing again Any ideas? I just bought this and fear that I am going to have to return it!
  5. My Avatar the pic to the left of my post.....
  6. Please look at my Avatar image, thats what I'm talking about, on the left is one from a broken card reader that fits and the one on the right is the one supplied which has a different pin configuration. The one that fits won't connect to the card reader, wrong pins.....
  7. Too easy, I got this off ebay! From Hong Kong and guess, no manual, no name on it. When my avatar is approved it will show the connection I need on the left and the one supplied on the right, it has a flat white cable with tiny wires, nothing as nice as red, green, blue etc......... thanks
  8. Hi, I have an Asus P5B-E mobo which has USB56, USB78 and USB910 connections. I have a 5.25" bay mounted card reader to install. It's no big deal except that the cable supplied connects to the card reader but the header at the other end does not match my free USB78 and USB910 pins. It's a flat white cable with little red markings, I had an existing cable from a previous Chinese card reader which does match up. I could try to connect the wires from each cable but I don't want to start figuring out which USB+5, USB p7, GND matchs the other, any other solutions, is this new cable configuration rare, is there an adaptor? Thanks, I hope I have made things clear enough.....
