Im working from home today due to the weather on a reasonably new hp Elitebook laptop (I have only had it for approximately 2 months).
The power cable was also plugged in as I was working away earlier and a message came up saying 'please replace the battery before you lose all your work' (or words to that effect). Which I didnt really take much notice of because I thought, what are you talking about, Im plugged in! Then the laptop just died, I have done everything since, I have taken the battery out and just plugged it in at the mains I have left it unplugged totally for half hour and tried to turn it on again, I have put the battery back in, on its own and then along with the mains..... nothing!! The power plug has life in it as there is a green light lit. The only means of life I have from the lap top is when I open it and press the power button the little 'lightning' symbol flashes briefly. I have texted the IT guy and he is a loss until he see's it, but just thought I'd try another avenue of help in the meantime!!
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Many thanks
Stacey
