  1. Hi there My original cd rw drive was broken so I bought a dvd rw drive to replace it. Im not that clued up on replacing parts in a pc but it seemed straight forward. Its a LINEON but i didnt take a note of the model. The problem is this, although the new drive seems to be working ok (it opens and closes) my pc hasnt detected it. I am sooooooooo desperate to get this working because I have just bought wrath of the lich king (world of warcraft) and i neeeeeeeeeeeed to play it!!! heehee Im running windows XP proffesional service pack 3 I hope that all made some sense
  2. This is an 'age old' program with my computer (2 years old) ... I have a Vaio computer made by Sony and run Windows XP. Please forgive me if I'm not using the correct computer terms but I'm doing my best - gentle smile. When the computer was brand new, I loved the feature that let me mouse-over a file, look on the left side of the screen and click, "Burn to CD". (So easy!). Then I did a sad thing ... I discovered something called 'Roxio' had been added in the factory - and used it. And the moment I did, never again would my computer recognise a disk in either of my drives without using Roxio to burn. Even tried uninstalling Roxio - but it did no good, my original feature of burning straight from a file seems to be gone forever. (Did ask for assistance at another site when this woe first occurred and while they were ever so kind, I'd rather not download/install another 'burning program'.) Re-installed Roxio but I'd far rather have my original feature back - if that's possible. Any suggestions will be appreciated - thanks so much!
