I have an Acer 4620z and my HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA, just stopped working, I have checked the device manager and there is an exclamation point over the disc drive. I have tried to uninstall the driver and reboot, that did not work, I tried to update driver software and that didnt work either. It was working fine and just quit...Any suggestions? I am running Vista Home premium if that helps....Thanks -
Hi, I hope someone can help. I have a hard drive from a Freeview box which I'm hoping to install into my pc to add more storage space. Inside my pc, I've connected the spare power lead and the other, longer plug (not exactly sure what it's called). I restarted windows and it detected the new drive straight away and says its working correctly. But how do I enable it so I can start saving things to it? Any help is much appreciated. hey ppl,just a quick quesiton.I am looking to buy a xbox 360 but on a budget (im a student lol) so i was looking at the xbox arcade version,i m sure everyone knows here that the arcade version comes with no hard drive.I have a external hard drive,could it be possible to plug in my external hard drive and use it for my xbox? thank you JaZz

I very recently bought a new HP DX2400 MT with Windows XP Professional SP2 and an new HP Notebook with Windows Vista. I transferred my existing files from my old computer to the DX2400 using a memory stick. After setting up the Internet connection an automatic update loaded SP3 to this computer. Following this my memory stick would not be recognised. Only a Kingston Datatraveller stick works but Cruzers do not. HP were contacted who suggested downloading an updated chipset driver and removing SP3. This was done but still the Cruzer won't operate. Plug this Cruzer into the Notebook and it operates OK, this Notebook has not been connected to the Internet or updated. On the DX the Cruzer is there in the Device Manager but not under the USB area. It has a Yellow Question mark against it but no Driver can be located when Windows searches. I downloaded the Cruzer U3 Driver but this does not work as Windows says the stick is not a Cruzer device!! Any clues or suggestions?:confused:

Hi, im new here and hope ive added this post in the correct section. Ive recently came back from holiday and im now getting problems with my computer. Whats happening is when im trying to run multiple programs im getting a strange click from the hard drive area and the certain program and sometimes the whole computer will freeze up. I took it to the local computer repair shop and they suggested i needed a new power supply. I got them to install the power supply which has helped the speed of my pc. However, the problem with freezing is still around and the clicking from what i believe is the hard drive is still happening. Im wondering if anyone has any thoughts on whether it is my hard drive and if so what can i do about it? Thanks Jamie

hi guys im a complete novice on pcs,,but mine wont start up at all. all the connections are ok i have taken the back off the pc and the fan is running all the time dontknow if that os normal or not its making a clicking noise to hope you can help me thanks

it seems i somehow lost access to it. when i double click on it, it asks me to choose in the list of programs to open it. how can i regain access to it??help me plz

Hi, I have 293GB of memory on my pc. I had a scratch disk error on photoshop CS3 and ever since then my memory has suddenly dropped to only 15GB's left. Prior to this error i had around 200+GB. I know that i only use around 30GB for the likes of music and image files. Does anyone have any idea how i can get my memory back!! I have done searches for PST files but didnt find any...and ive also defragmented. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Gaz
