Just wondering if anyone else has encountered the error below, when I use my bookmark to go to my Gmail page I get this error, when I search for the page and log in it seems to work, then I save it as a new bookmark and the next time I get this again. There is a "Try again" button below the error, when I click that it loads fine. Corrupted Content Error The site at Gmail has experienced a network protocol violation that cannot be repaired. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

Just lately, and this is a brand new machine, I seem to be getting this everyday, sometimes twice per day. Usually I unplug the modem for a few minutes and it works. Today however, I reverterd to IE and it is working fine. This tells me it is not the internet connection but Firefox. What should the Firewall settings be to allow Firefox as this is one of the suggestions? Otherwise I may as well revert back to IE if the other is going to be doing this all the time. Thanks Steve

hpcompaq 610 (7ultimate), 2ghz dual core t5780, 2gb ram, 160gb hdd. whilst browsing using firefox, i was encouraged to download, (with uninstaller), a toolbar from "on the box" - a tv listings website. now i cannot find the uninstaller and the thing seems to be giving me problems. any suggestions to get rid of this toolbar would be most welcome.

How could I capture in editable format, the entire results a search, which may be several screens long ? Most convenient would be a spread sheet, since the results are in tabular form.

Hi - im new here, so hello :) Recently my computer (Sony Vaio VGN-NR11S/S) has been running very slowly, and had a few problems with IE too. It randomly decides to "not respond" and closes periodically. I have some tools that I use quite a bit such as CCleaner and AVG to try and keep my PC up to scratch, but it has got the better of me this time. I did used to be a member of another forum online just like this, where they used to ask me to download Hyjackthis and post logs on their forum, but never really seemed to work too well. I would appreciate any advice/help please Dan

recently, everytime i start up my toshiba laptop a mini window appears and states that the delivery manager has stopped working. yesterday i had to start in safe mode before restarting normally again. i get the feeling that all is not well with the machine. one other point maybe relevant is that on start up it occasional asks for me to search for the drivers for an unknown printer. i do have a wireless printer set up which most times does work. the machine is a toshiba sat pro a210, vista premium, 2gb ram, 160 gb hdd, amd athlon x2.

Hi, I have a problem which I've tried searching around for but can't find any cases specifically similar to mine so I've joined this forum to ask for any help! I have a list of Favourites and all the links have always worked fine - but now, when I try and access William Hill I get the following error message pop up: Internet Explorer cannot download EN from sports.williamhill.com. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailble or cannot be found. Please try again later. I first got this message last night, have since tried William Hill from my work computer and it is fine, but it's happened on mine again. There are no reported problems with the William Hill site in general. When i google William Hill to access the site that way, I get the following pop-up: Do you want to save this file, or find a program online to open it? ...as if it's something I'm trying to download! This has never happened to me before and I've used the website fine up until now. I've read various sites online but most people who had the same pop=up as I get were specifically using the Vista Help & Support menu - not a normal website like William Hill. Does anybody have any idea what is up or why this problem would suddenly have appeared, and/or how to fix it?? I've already tried what they suggest here: http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/tech-tips-and-tricks/1191-vista-fix-internet-explorer-cannot-download-windows.html and it doesn't work. I've also already tried deleting all temporary internet files/cookies/history etc and rebooting - still no joy! Any info appreciated, thanks, chris.

Hi! When I first set up my computer with XP I shared my computer with a partner. Now she is gone. Is there any way that I can delete her name from logging on so that when Windows starts up it goes straight into desk top without asking which one of us is logging on.

Hello I hope someone could help me with this little problem. I have recently brought a USB PCI card for my aunties PC, her existing two USB slots on her motherboard have stopped working the slots have become loose so i thought adding new ones would be easy. Well i added the card into the PCI slot and turned it on. On boot the BIOS start up recognised the card but there was an IRQ conflict I carried on booting windows XP and thought i'd look at it from windows. I checked device manager and it said there was an error (code 10) i researched this online an i was told normally the IRQ was 9 so I went into the BIOS setup and changed this. I rebooted the computer and windows wouldn't load I went back into the BIOS setup and changed the IRQ setup to auto again but still windows won't load. After about 10 - 15 reboots i got into windows but its still not solved the USB problem and windows still wont load straight away. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Every time i try to install a program, for instance nvidia's graphic drivers,on my desktop, I always get a corrupt installation on the installation. I tried redownloading the application and installing it countless times but to no avail. But, when I download it from the same site with my laptop and transfer it using a thumbdrive, I can install it perfectly. The only difference between the desktop's installation file and the laptop's installation file is that my desktop's installation file, when i double-clicked it, is that the UAC will prompt that the installation file shows an "unspecified publisher" while my laptop's installation file displays "Nvidia Corporation". I also tried to reinstall my OS, which is Vista Home Premium, but the problem still exists. How can I remove this problem? I hate having to transfer files between my laptop and my desktop frequently. Also, is this a hard disk problem?

Hi Guys.Outlook Express works OK,But in Windows when I right click on a File, select send to Recipient, when I click OK,everything vanishes and the Email box doesn't show to fill in like previous.Any clues Guys? What I do see till everything vanishes, is a file exchange box, that seems to be stuck in a loop. The top send mail box, although shows finished, just keeps going,on and on. Been working till about a week ago. Thanks. http://i40.tinypic.com/345xzcg.png

Hi all, I seem to have done something rather dumb. my pc (toshiba portege) was running really slowly, and a friend said to delete programs I didn't use. So i went into Control Panel-> add or remove programs, and deleted what i thought was a sound recording software I'd added. But, weirdly after about an hour, I stopped being able to hear sounds, like on youtube etc. I also can't adjust the volume of the pc, and when I go into control panel->sounds and audio devices I can't adjust any options. It says No Audio Device in the volume tab. So, i think i've stupidly deleted the software for my audio device or something? oops. Any sugggestions for how to get sound back? I don't really know much about computers, so pretty basic info or details would be great. I'm running windows XP, not sure if it's the professional or home version, i think professional. Thanks so much for any advice!

I've been using a Wireless Keyboard for a few months but have discovered that I cannot perform a complete Re-Install because the BOOT SCREEN only gives me 10 seconds to press a certain button (F11) to continue the install, I have tried to connect a wired keyboard but it just wont work!, although the scroll keys lights come on at the very beginning they go out and the keyboard will not function. I have tried Uninstalling everything to do with the wireless set-up but just cant get the thing to perform, so I cannot complete the Re-Install untill I solve this problem,Any help would be appreciated..ty
