Guest Sal Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 A few days ago I booted up in safe mode and deleted the following index.dat files: %userprofile%\Cookies\index.dat %userprofile%\local settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat %userprofile%\local settings\temporary internet files \Content.IE5\index.dat Windows has not yet recreated those files. Is this something to be concerned about?

Instead of asking "Where are they" I should've asked "Why weren't they recreated"? I know where they're supposed to be located. In the past whenever I deleted them Windows would recreate them on the next normal boot-up. But not this time. What happened?

Thanks for the info just the same.
