Just wondering if an Windows Update might be causing the following problem;

Just reinstalled XP and have finished taking all the updates... now when

you go to "Restart" the computer it hangs at 'Windows is shutting' and will

not restart.

No problems with normal "Shutdown" Shut downs correctly and then turns

back on normally.

Any known issues with possibly one of the updates that might cause this

"Restart" issue.

Sincerely would appreciate any suggestions.

Many Thanks!!!

Re: Restart Problem

MAK,

Try doing a system restore. This will remove all of the updates. Then,

download the updates, install, then try restarting again. Sometimes it might

take a while to complete the tasks. How long did you wait when it was on the

"Windows is shutting down" screen?
