Guest Kahlan Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I have TCP\IP configured on a standalone server. I confirmed my IP address was correct IP 10.1.1.1 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway 10.1.1.1 dns server (itself) no dns configured yet but plan on doing it during the dcpromo but when I go to do a dcpromo it tells me IP is not set up correctly. I have done this hundreds of times in a 2000/03 enviroment, am I missing something silly
Guest Phillip Windell Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Re: dcpromo-tells me invalid ip Remove the Default Gateway. It is pointless to point to itself. Install the DNS Service before running DCPromo but leave it unconfigured. Set the DNS in the TCP/IP Config to itself.
