I can not connect any clients to Terminal Services

I have installed Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition at home. (It is under

the 120 day grace period) I have installed Terminal Services and according to

the checklist there is no need for a TS License server during the grace

period. However in server manager it keeps noting it can't find a licensing

server. I have installed the gateway and web access portions, also routing

and remote access services, Configured the users to be in the remote desktop

group and still I can not connect via terminal services. As an administrator

I can connect to the server both locally and remotely. I assume that is

because as an admin I am still only using Remote Desktop (since it shows no

connections in "Routing and remote access" Did I install Termial Services

incorrectly for the grace period?

Silly but did you install the Terminal Server service role on the server? I

found that some clients missed that part, because when they install the TS

role they think that's it and that it's not necessary to select the TS role

service.

Also, besides administrators, can any other user logo on to the TS in the

local LAN? Let's troubleshoot that part before we complicate things further

with RRAS and TS Gateway.
