Guest thoby Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Dear all, does anyone knows about the following error message reported in system log: The driver for device \Device\Scsi\adpu3201 detected a port timeout due to prolonged inactivity. All associated busses were reset in an effort to clear the condition. Server is connected with SCSI controller Adaptec 29320A to storage system. Drivers and BIOS are uptodate! It looks that there is no impact on user sessions and files, but it is disturbing us! Thank you Thoby

Is the system BIOS, not the Adaptec card, up to date? - Thee Chicago Wolf

Well, from what I can see, the latest driver from Adaptec is in fact 7.0.0.6 and is dated from 2007. The latest from IBM is 3.0 from way back in 2004. Damn lazy OEMs never update their drivers. By your driver signature (5.2.3790.xxxx), it seems to me you're using a default Microsoft Server 2003 driver? Try using the Adaptec 7.0.0.6 driver located here: http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/speed/scsi/windows/u320_scsi_v7006_win32_cert_exe.htm If you do, read the info in the release notes as there is some info about registry stuff you may or may not have to use in your situation. Let me know how it goes. - Thee Chicago Wolf
