Windows Server 2008 Licensing Mode

Hi,

from Windows Server 2003 I'm used to configure the licensing mode. You

can choose between "Per Server" and "Per seat" licensing. I also read

that a Windows CAL is required to access a Windows Server 2008 so I

assume that licensing is still an issue with the new OS release.

However, how can I configure the licensing mode in Windows Server

2008?

I appreciate your help.

Kind regards,

Jiriki

Hi:

I assume that you talk about Terminal Server Licensing. Take a look to this

information:

Client Access Licensing

Re: Windows Server 2008 Licensing Mode

Why would you assume that? The question is about what happens when the

server OS is first being installed. That is where the question about per

seat or per server comes up.

On the original question, I should know the answer because I have

installed Server 2008 several times but I can't remember seeing the

question. If it is still the same as 2003 I probably accepted the default.
