Guest noahwallach Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Hi there, My XP screensaver kicks in automatically after 10 minutes. The screensaver never shows but instead just the background screen appears. I am unable to return to a login prompt with tapping control-alt-delete. I have to power the machine off and back on again. What can I do to get the screen saver to work well again? Cheers, Noah

If it's a screensaver that's almost too powerful for your PC (or just a badly-written one) it might take a while (up to 30 seconds?) for you to get back to your screen once you've moved your mouse / hit a key. (Check the scr's settings, that it can be stopped with a key hit / mouse wiggle). Try changing to a different screensaver in Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver tab, see if the same happens. Also check your power settings, from the same place.
