have to manually install SP3 and office updates

Hi there,

I have another XP machine that I have to manually install the SP3 and office

updates ever since I updated IE 6.0. Why does that happen? I am no longer

able to use the IE "windows update" routine. I need to go to the Micro$oft

KB and download the SP3 and office update files and run each one of them

manually. Why isnt the "windows update" routine working any longer and how

can I make it so it does work again?

Cheers,

Noah

Please see this page http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm then post back to this

thread with the information we'd need to be able to assist you properly.

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or

anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer,

AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before

attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party

firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!
