Guest Information Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 XP Home SP3 is doing the following: 1) Upon boot, there is a strange set of beeps just as the bluish "Welcome" screen appears. This does not seem to directly affect anything, but I have not seen another machine beep at this point. 2) Once the system stabilizes opening any non-program icon "explores" the desktop. 3) Opening IE7, it will go to my homepage. Clicking on ANY link, will take me to my homepage. The actions of 2) and 3) do not change, until I press CTRL-ALT-DEL once. Now, things work normally. I do not kill any processes, and am stumped why pressing C-A-D once makes things behave normally. Any insight is appreciated, thanks in advance. Dan
