Guest Winston 3456 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 I have a CIO attempting to tell me that at the time Microsoft was still supporting SP 1 with hot fixes that SP 1 and SP 2 were identical. I believe that there are some differences between them, including WPA support as well as other security features that are unique to SP 2. Assuming we were looking in 2006, am I correct that SP 2 was different that SP 1?

SP2 was a collection of several hotfixes which had been public available to SP1 users through Windows Update. The mentioned WPA patch was in the beginning a manually downloaded update, but was later released to Windows Update. However SP2 came with Security Center and a Firewall, these was AFAIR not available as an update, but only with SP2. -- Bjarke Andersen
