Guest salonowiec Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 My computer doesn't show a certain www site: with IE it keeps loading without end, with Firefox it gives something like (not precisely, sorry): " Wrong redirection. Firefox detected that server redirects the request in the way that makes the completion impossible..." I checked everything about cookies, disabled the Antivirus - no result... The same site with the same internet cable works perfect with another computer. Have you any idea?... Thank you.

Maybe the problem is at the server end, that the website has been configured incorrectly. -- Bjarke Andersen

Have you any idea?... Thank you. I've had that firefox error too. I take it to mean the web site is screwed up. Not me.

The site is http://www.polityczni.pl , as I said it's > working perfectly in the same room, with the same modem but with another > computer. My AV is AVG but I tried to disable it by "Exit"... Thank you... I'm thinking that you have a compromised hosts file. Some spyware or malware could have rewritten your hosts file to redirect your browser to their malware sites. Your anti-malware program is blocking that redirection from happening. Go to http://www.abelhadigital.com/ and download a program called "Hostsman". It is an excellent hosts file manager that will overwrite your current hosts file with a hosts file that will block out websites that serve up advertising and sites that try to put spyware on your computer. Allow it to overwrite rather than merge your current hosts file. That will get rid of the problem of the redirects in your current hosts file. Good luck! Mark

Try overwriting your hosts file and run the Hostsman server as well to protect your hosts file from being written by whatever malware you have running on your computer. Mark

Type: PING [name of site] Enter the ip address of the site in your browser and see if you can enter then. -- Joe =o)

The IP address is: 89.161.177.7 Insert that in the address bar and see if you can go to the site. Which one is "usb connected" and which is "network connected"? Are you using ICS? Whatever the answers, I believe it's time for you to try a networking ng where this subject is commonplace. -- Joe =o)

I suppose I don't use ICS: the "usb connected" machine may be off while I can use my computer...

I found surprising solution: my friend suggested that I change my IP address from private to public one... And it works!!! Thanks to everybody.
