In IE, Tools>Internet Options>Connections.

Highlight the connection and click Settings.

In Dial-up Settings click Advanced and uncheck the box next to

"Disconnect when Connection may no longer be needed".

"Disconnect if idle for ... mins"

IE version? Are you still on dial-up?

IE Tools | Internet Options | Connections | Dial-up and Virtual Private

Network settings | Settings | Dial-up settings | Advanced | Disconnect when

connection may no longer be needed.
