Guest Deckard Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 OS is Windows XP SP3. Error message will appear regularly multiple times throughout the day. Error box title is: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Message inside box is: Runtime Error! Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contract the application's support team for more information. I thought this issue was isolated to my laptop (Fujitsu) but now the error is showing up on my other laptop (Vaio). Notified the MS helpdesk. Their response was that the issue was related to a specific program and the only way to isolate the issue is to run msconfig, remove all non-MS programs from startup routine, reboot to save changes, then allow each separate application to run to try to isolate the problem. With all of the programs on my laptop, it would literally take me a month working full time to test each program, reboot, reconfigure, test, deselect, reconfigure, reboot, etc., etc. There has to be a better way to diagnose this issue. Sure, I'd love to have the time to pickup every grain of sand on the beach, but I'd rather use a bull dozer. Deckard
