Guest jamesph Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I posted the following in the wrong group so here it is again: On Windows XP Pro. I am receiving error 1722 when trying to install ACT... I have tried the tool package from http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;928080 as per Lionel Chens suggestion but there is no change. Here is the acterr.log === Verbose logging started: 19/06/2008 22:41:33 Build type: SHIP UNICODE 3.01.4000.4039 Calling process: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe === MSI © (78:80) [22:41:33:232]: Resetting cached policy values MSI © (78:80) [22:41:33:232]: Machine policy value 'Debug' is 0 MSI © (78:80) [22:41:33:232]: ******* RunEngine: ******* Product: Application Compatibility Tookit.msi ******* Action: ******* CommandLine: ********** MSI © (78:80) [22:41:33:232]: Note: 1: 2203 2: Application Compatibility Tookit.msi 3: -2147287038 MSI © (78:80) [22:41:33:232]: MainEngineThread is returning 2 === Verbose logging stopped: 19/06/2008 22:41:33 === further to this I tried to run sfc /scannow but when asked to insert the XP SP2 cd (which suggests some file corruption?) a message came up that this was the wrong cd? could this be due to having installed SP3? I have downloaded the sysinternals system monitor as per Lionel Chens instructions ...so where do I go from here? thanks -- jph
