RandyL Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Are you having trouble with the free open source miro player or a torrent file? If it's the player just reinstall it. If it's a torrent file beware of the risks involved. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. RandyL Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 miro is the player. A torrent is a file sharing program. miro may also be both. Is this correct? Did you download the file via miro or via a different torrent program? Can you locate the file and right click it to determine its file type? Quote We are all members helping other members. Geo-68 Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 hi randyl its (not) torrent file it is miro player ! i down loaded miro 2 kws ago it was ok & played files from the tv series fine. i deleted miro but then wanted it again the (player) . downloaded it ok again but it wont play or even open i should say - just wee box from miro warning me something is not connected on my pc for miro to play ! i think im missing a driver which i might off deleted or not updated . i could do a back to factory settings but worry i could lose my personel stuff. what drivers make programes work like miro ? i noticed to that my movies on windows media player have went to from a picture to a windows cirle with arrow which only can be herd & not seen as movies anymore , i think i need to have some one around experinced to ssort out what iv done to my pc as think iv disabled something as it played every thing & down loaded like miro players & torrents before with not a hitch . if you can think what iv done or a path to which plays these devices would maybe help LOL Quote
RandyL Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Not having a clue as to what you have done I can only suggest doing a system restore picking a date when things worked. Plastic Nev Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 From what you say, you did once have the Miro player and it worked, but then uninstalled it, but now installing it again it will not work. This sounds like the uninstall didn't remove everything and left a part of it behind which is now causing some conflict. I suggest following Randy's advice and use "System Restore" to send the computer back to a time either before you installed Miro the first time, or to the time when Miro was installed and working. That in itself will undo anything you did that prevented it from working now. If however there is not a restore point available that goes back far enough to those times, the next thing to try would be a full uninstall using Revo uninstaller, that should remove most traces that may be preventing a full working install now. Let us know how you get on with a System Restore first though. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems? Then why not join Free PC Help.
