Problem with screen savers

Whenever I install a new screen saver (it happens with all), it will install

all of the corrsponding files for that screen saver. If I go to

c:\windows\System32 the corresponding scr files are installed and can be

executed as well as the C:\Program Files folder corresponding to that screen

saver, but it will not be added to the XP Screen Saver list (right click on

desktop/Properties/Display Properties/Screen Saver tab/Screen saver drop down

list). Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

(My system is a Windows XP Pro SP3 and the issue was still present when it

was SP2).

Re: Problem with screen savers

perhaps you should not

install any third party

screensavers since there

are some that are designed

by evil programmers.

thus if you force windows

to accept a evil program

then you will it to take

over your computer.

instead you should go

"green" and instead of

wasting valuable energy,

precious computer power

running screensavers and

wearing down the life span

of your monitor, you should

use the power setting feature

to "turn off monitor after

5 minutes"

moving the mouse should

awaken the monitor after

it has been sleeping.
