We need to deploy a password policy for all users. We set up a dummy account

that is required to change thier password on next logon, and every 45 days.

We then set them up on the accounting/ billing server that is only a member

server so they can access the applications.

We tested the account for logging into the domain first and if they could

access the desired apps. Not a problem. Then made the neccessary test

changes.

Now the dummy user can log into the domain, but not the application server.

Password/user unknown error.

All servers are 2003 Standard/R2, and all workstations are XP Pro.

TIA and any further info I will provide

Hope this is the correct forum!!

Re: Password Policy

Hello bondo,

If the server is member of the domain it will only use the policy set on

the domain level, here you have to set the password policy of the domain,

no other place are allowed or will be used. What do you mean with logon to

the application server, do you mean logon locally or as domain user? What

are your necessary test changes? If it works before you have to go step by

step backwards to figure which one it is.

Best regards
