Bassline Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Okay so I dunno if it's my grafics card but I'm new to this forum so didn't really know where to post please forgive me. Okay so my PC tends to freeze when I'm playing full screen programs and I have to turn it off and back on "Windows shut down from error" put doesn't say what it is when I boot up again. I tried to restore to factory settings but I can't find how to get to that option I have tried every function key (ESC F1 F2 ect). So I just installed windows 7 from fresh with my Disk and then installed my games and music ect (took over 14 hours) and then it happens again :\. I thought maybe I overclocked card too much but I set to default and still not fixed it, i didn't even clock it that much. Also ran virus tests for everything using 5 different programs, nothing. Tried so many things but still happens, please can anyone help. I have team viewer if someone wants to take a look at my PC. only way my games work is in Safe Mode, but that's just like super low ress. Plastic Nev Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Further to Randy's advice, and explain a little more, the advice to disable auto restart, use F8 at boot up , once the screen comes up use the up down keys to navigate to turn off the auto restart, and follow the instructions to set and it and start Windows normally. Next time it goes blue screen it should then give the fault codes which can help us find what may be causing your problem. Next is how long have you had this computer? If maybe a year or so it may be dust accumulated round or on the fans and heat sink for the main CPU or also the graphics CPU on the card, that will be making it overheat and does require cleaning off. Next is the power supply, can you see the label on it and how many watts it is rated at? It just may not be big enough and overheating. Nev. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
