I have a Toshiba laptop model P100 bought in 2008, the screen has developed 6 thin coloured hair thickness lines on the right of the screen running vertically from top to bottom. Please could anyone advise if this problem can be resolved and how.

Hi and welcome to ExTS

Are the lines there immediately you boot up or do they develop after a time?

I am thinking that if it is after a time - it could be heat related and a blast from a can of compressed air may shift some accumulated dust.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

The lines are their from boot up. They are a light blue / yellow colour and are more visable on a dark background.

I don't think the prognosis is good.

I think you either have a video or screen problem.

If you attach an external monitor - if the lines are still there it is a Video problem, if not, then the problem lies with the screen.

Take a look here:

If I may, have you tried updating your video drivers? Worth a shot before spending any money.

Good luck.
