Opening new tabs in IE7 in home page

I have gone to tools, internet options then how web pages are displayed in tabs then open home page blah blah. But this does not seem to work.

Please can you help?

Hi, for a start off, if your operating system is correctly stated as Windows 7 Home Premium, you should now be running Internet explorer 9 not 7. That is way out of date and now not very secure.

I recommend you go to the Microsoft home page and download and install IE9. If problems, we can take it from there.

On the other hand if you have just got the numbers wrong and you do indeed have IE9 you should have this at the top of the page as per this screen shot.

If you click the small box as per the green arrow, that will open a new tab. Then type or copy and paste the URL you need into the address bar, as per the red arrow.

Internet explorer should still be exactly the same as above when run in Vista. Do check which version you have as ideally it should be IE9 now. Internet Explorer for XP is still only at IE8 by the way, they haven't as yet got IE9 ready to work with XP.

I have windows vista home premium and not windows 7 so I have IE7 at the mo as I only recently installed it again.

Hum, open Internet explorer, click on the tools button, and then the "About Internet Explorer" let us know what it says as to the version that IE is at Please. Does it look like this?

 

If not, go to that link I gave in my first post, and update it please.

Hmm? Not that I needed to look at that, which is in help and not settings, but oh look it says IR7 like I said.

What I did was to get annoyed by the people who clearly do not listen or just make outstanding assumptions without reading peoples requests and decided to just leave it.

And i get annoyed when members ask for help and then throw it back in the faces of other members trying to help them.

You are the one with the system..... members helping you can't see what you see, so they rely on accurate descriptions and information.

If you don't give this information, the member helping you can only sit and wonder.

But anyway, members helping you don't deserve to be ridiculed.

What is more, I did ask you to upgrade to windows Internet Explorer 9 so further help could be given. If you can't accept or understand instructions, it ain't my fault.

Sorry to revive this thread, but you could also just press ctrl + T which, as far as I know, opens a new tab in every browser.
