Guest Buck Turgidson Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I have "XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2" on my desktop. Can I, and should I, upgrade this to SP3? If so, how should I proceed? Any advice would be appreciated. I would like to test drive Hyper-V, which requires SP3. Thanks very much.

What to do before installing SP3: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717 2. Make sure you're fully patched up with Windows Updates. 3. Make sure you've got the Intel chipset drivers already installed: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=816&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21 4. If you have anti-virus, make sure it's fully up to date. 5. Download the full SP3 as I don't recommend the Window Update version. 6.
