Guest monica Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I have a couple Dell pcs where I did an XP repair. Once it completed, the glitchy problems we had were fixed, so we are happy. However, if we attempt any Windows updates, they download, but all fail. No error message, just says updates didn't install. This also happens whenever we upgrade a pc with Windows 2000 to Windows XP. I've done every Google search imaginable but all recommended solutions don't pertain to our exact situations. So upgrading, reinstalling, or repairing XP seems to disable the actual install of updates. Any help is much appreciated.

While searching, did you come across this article? Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you repair a Windows XP installation http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144 Good luck Nepatsfan
