Slumdog Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Hi, every time I turn on/re-boot Fujitsu laptop (XP) it asks me to push F1 key to continue at the Fujitsu logo page. This is very annoying as I will often be away from PC and come back to find it stuck there at the beginning. There is a "02F9 Thermal sensor error" message there, but this is not an issue as laptop has not been on for ages sometimes. All I want it to do is boot up automatically. There is not an "halt on" option in BIOS. Quote
Wolf Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 What is the boot list in the bios Slum? From top to bottom. Quote
Slumdog Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Sorry for the delay Wolf, been a bit busy! Quick Boot : Enabled Boot time diagnostic screen : Disabled Boot menu : Enabled Preboot execution environment : Enabled > Boot device priority Quote

Wolf Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 If your machine does not have a floppy drive then disable that in the bios. Keep the rest of the order as it is. The machine should then boot directly from the hard drive. Quote
Wolf Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Disable Preboot execution environment in the bios. Quote
Slumdog Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Nope. Still asking for F1 or F2 to be pushed. Wish there was a "halt on" option!! Quote
RandyL Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Chances are your fan is failing. Although a computer can get hot in seconds even if it is not it will generate that error. A failing fan can even be a delay in starting which will generate an error. To continue after that error you need to press F1 to continue to Windows or F2 to enter setup. You should replace the fan now before overheating issues cause damage. Once you do that the error and the need to F1 should be gone. Quote We are all members helping other members.
