jamie1988 Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 I am currently running Windows Vista Business on my laptop which has, an Intel Core Duo T7500 @ 2.20 GHz, 4Gb Ram, 160Gb Hard drive and a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT. This problem occurs occasionally, when the laptop seems to have been on for a long time, roughly around 8 hours or maybe slightly less. What seems to happen is that the laptop freezes up and programs suddenly stop working and come up with error messages ( i would include the list of programs but they change constantly, some times they are windows based and other times they are based around other software). and then a blue screen will appear and have an error message 'Memory_Management'.I have done the windows memory diagnostics tool and found no problems with the RAM in the computer. I also tried uninstalling norton antivirus as windows mentioned that it maybe that antivirus software causing the problem. However i am now using the Mcafee antivirus that came with the laptop and i the error still occurs. The error does not occur often, however it is just annoying that i sometimes cannot use my laptop for prolonged periods of time, and sometimes have to turn it off to let it rest. I am unsure as to if this is a hardware or a software problem and was wondering if you could possibly help me identify the source of the problem. Quote
RandyL Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Just a guess or two here. Laptops don't cool as well as desktops. Perhaps it's overheating. Make sure the surface it's sitting in is flat and hard not cushioned. Don't leave it on so long. It's not a desktop. Cooling fans might work intermittlingy on your laptop. Please forgive my grammer and missed items in your post. I'm struggling with a temporary illness that is kicking my ***. Quote We are all members helping other members.
