I just installed service pack 3 on XP pro. It has disabled the standby

option on the menu screen and the keyboard shortcuts. Does anyone know

how to reinstate this.:frown:

Usually a driver problem, start by updating graphics and chipset drivers

then everything else.

Standby & Hibernate Issues in Windows XP

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_standby.htm

How to troubleshoot hibernation and standby issues in Windows XP:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907477/en-us

When you click “Turn Off Computer” on the Start menu, the Hibernate

button does not appear in Windows XP:

Also try:

In Control Panel, double-click Power Options, click the APM tab, and

then click to clear the Enable Advanced Power Management Support check

box.

Restart the computer.

In Control Panel, double-click Power Options, click the APM tab, and

then click to select the Enable Advanced Power Management Support check

box.
