Guest Peter Dickason, MCSE, CCA, CNE Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Re: how do i drop the fire wall after joining the daomian through a vp Yea, I'm not a fan of software firewalls. With a software firewall, the questionable traffic is already touching your PC, which is the sole purpose of a firewall to keep that from happening. You want a firewall, go get yourself a 'real' i.e. hardware firewall. But in any event, if it is active through AD group policy, there's not much you can do except add the rules for the ports you need to communicate through. Even that could be locked down. I don't know your policy. If you're a domain admin or have been delegated authority, I can tell you how to exclude your workstation from the policy :) hope this helps Pete
