I only have 2 of them 1 for today and 1 for 2 days ago. Is there a way to

have more than just 2 of them.

Thanks

First be sure that there's enough space for the restore points. If there

isn't much space, the older ones will "fall off" and be removed as new ones

are made.

If this causes you problems with drive space, consider replacing the hard

disk with something larger, or reorganizing material so that data is on

another drive.

Why?

System Restore creates Restore Points automatically approximately every

24 hours (if the computer is running). In addition, Restore Points may

be created by automatic updates, install routines of some applications,

and sometimes by malware removal applications just before the removal

operation is begun. And a user can manually create a Restore Point at

any time.

By default, Windows XP allocates 12% of the disk space for Restore

Points, which on large disks is much too large. You should reset it to

about 1 GB.

Restore Points are added until the allocated space is used up, at which

point the oldest RPs are removed to make room for new ones. Also, RPs

are deleted after about 90 days.

In general, there's no good reason to have a lot of RPs. Restoring to a

point that is days or weeks old is likely to lead to problems if not

done with some careful thought.

Finally, System Restore only saves and restores the "system." It does

not save or restore your applications or data.

Look here....Control Panel>System>System Restore(tab)>Settings.

See if the slider will move further to the right. This will create

space for more Restore Points. On my computer 10% gives about a

month's worth. HTH.

Ok maybe I was not clear, but I only have for 7/1 and 6/30 as my only restore

points.

And the bar is set all the way to the right for 12%

Keep reading. Navigate the various WinXP-specific pages via the dropdown

menu in the "menu bar" at the top of the page.

Well, what happened on June 29? You didn't happen to install SP3, did you?

It seems as if System Restore was disabled and then restarted (or you

ran Disk Cleanup and checked the box to delete all the Restore Points).

What happens if you try to create a manual Restore Point?
