juliek Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-50, with Windows XP home edition. I tried to install a display adaptor driver, but I got an error message to try to run in Standard AGP mode (or something like that). When I next booted into Windows, the display went black when Windows loaded. I have tried booting into Safe Mode, but it gets stuck at AGP440.sys and if I leave it a while, the computer shuts down. I have tried using the Windows instalation disk, recovery console, but it asks for an administrator password. As far as I know, there is no password, but I have tried pressing Enter, but that does not work. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I could just install windows again, but it has Jaws on it, and I'll lose one of the Authorisations. Quote
RandyL Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Tough one. If you can't get into safemode or the recovery console you may be out of luck. I know of no other option. Maybe someone else does. juliek Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 No I've been trying all morning. Tried everything I can think of. I'm giving up and going for reinstalling Windows. Fortunately my Jaws authorizations have been reset, so I should have some more. Quote
juliek Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 How stupid of me. I could have tried to access it through Jaws screen reading program that was installed on it. Too late now, unfortunately. Quote
