ste110 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi, i have an acer aspire 5553 laptop and when i power it up the acer loading screen comes up then it goes to a black screen, i have tried to press F8 to get safe mode but this doesnot work and i am unable to do anything to get win7 to load and help would be much appreciated thanks ste Quote
KenB Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi and welcome to ExTS Safe Mode is sometime awkward to get into. Constantly tap F8 about once per second after switching on - see if this helps. You could try taking the RAM modules out and put just one at a time in. Sometimes a problem with one of the modules can cause this problem. Try booting with just the one module in. If the problem persists - swap the modules over. They will be located underneath a panel in the base of your machine. stev25 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I had this same kind of thing. But I have the ATI win 7 preview driver. I disabled the ATI external event viewer in services and unchecked the CCC from startup programs and it stopped. I don't know what the equivelant would be for those would with nvidia. If they have a nvidia beta driver for your card for 7, I might try it. Quote custom logo design
