Guest MsnLincs Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I have a 2003 domain with Windows XP SP2 clients. Our end users have roaming profiles. We have several users who recieve the error of "Cannot update your roaming profile" when they log off. They all have proper permissions and no netlogon or computer browser events are occurring simultaneously. I have tried to rename the profile on the server to allow the PC to upload a fresh copy, but they still get the error. Here is an example of the two events: Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1509 Date: 7/3/2008 Time: 9:00:37 AM User: AAFCU\billh Computer: KJMORT3 Description: Windows cannot copy file C:\Documents and Settings\billh\ntuser.dat to location \\falconone\user profiles\billh\ntuser.dat. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator. DETAIL - The system cannot find the path specified. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Event Type: Error Event Source: Userenv Event Category: None Event ID: 1504 Date: 7/3/2008 Time: 9:00:44 AM User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Computer: KJMORT3 Description: Windows cannot update your roaming profile. Possible causes of this error include network problems or insufficient security rights. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator. DETAIL - The system cannot find the path specified. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. My first question would be, Is there a way to be able to view the files still in use and by what at the time of log off? Has anyone seen this before? If so, what worked for you to correct it? Thanks in advance, Lincoln
