internet connection with comcast

Maybe someone on this group can help me. I had been using att/

sbcyahoo wireless on my dell laptop running windows xp. My husband is

using comcast and I want to now connect with comcast. I get the

signal ok but I cannot connect to the internet. I'm not all that tech

savvy so I'm having a bit of trouble. I tried to do the "repair"

thing but it says something about windows not managing the connection

and something else about an isp address. Can anyone help me with

this?

Thanks.

Open a command prompt window and enter these two commands in the following

order:

1) ipconfig /release

2) ipconfig /renew

Also go into the properties of the wireless connection, find the tcp/ip,

and highlight it and click the properties button. See if both "obtain

... automatically" boxes are checked. If not then write down what

you have just so you can reset and set them to auto.

Then do the release/renew as JS said above.
