Windows Explorer & Start Menu

Recommended Posts

Windows Explorer is normally found on the Start Menu under

Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer. I accidentally "dragged and

dropped" Windows Explorer from the Accessories Menu to the desktop.

Now I have a great shortcut, but Windows Explorer is no longer part of

the Accessories Menu list.

Is there any way to get Windows Explorer back into the Menu?

Thanks.

Don,

Drag the shortcut for Windows Explorer that's on your desktop with your

right mouse button down to the Start button and hold it there momentarily.

The Start menu will then expand. Drag the shortcut up to Accessories, again

hold it there momentarily and Accessories will expand. Then you can drop it

where you like in Accessories.

Personally I keep it in the All Programs section for easier access.

Hope this helps.

- Launch Windows Explorer

- Navigate to c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start

Menu\Programs\Accessories

- Drag the Windows Explorer shortcut into this folder, using the RIGHT mouse

button

- Select "Copy" when prompted

Now you know where the various shortcuts dwell!
