sanderl Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I formatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows XP. The laptop is a Dell Precision M20. Before I reinstalled Windows, I downloaded all of the Drivers from the Support-site from Dell. I also installed SP2 and SP3 of Windows XP. Now the computer works but it has some issues. It runs slower then before, but CPU seems never extreme high. I already set the 'paging file size' to 'system managed size'. My experience is that the computer runs slow when I'm connected to my office network. When I try to access files on the server it randomly fails. Sometimes I'm connected to the server and I can easily open all maps en files, but then while I'm busy the computer suddenly says I'm unable to read the files on the server as if I'm disconnected. Sometimes I even don't get connected with the server at all, while none of changes to the system took place.http://www.pchelpforum.com/newthread...ewthread&f=296 When the LAN-cable is plugged in, the notebook obviously gets even more slower. I also get system errors :'Windows System Error: there's an IP-conflict found with another system on the network' (not the exact words, because I translate out of Dutch) And then there's also the BSOD (see image), which tells me that there is a driver problem. Maybe I installed a wrong driver? Can anyone help me, or tell me what to do to figure out what's the problem? Quote
RandyL Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Hi. If it runs fine when not connected to the office network you should contact your office tech. The mmpool error can be associated with an external device so again a visit with your tech might help. You could check device manager just to be sure there are no driver issues but you seemed to have done all the right things after the reinstall. As I said this should be discussed with them as the errors seem to point to connecectivity issues with your office server. There is no way for us to diagnose that unfortunately. By the way I was able to get a translation of your screenshot. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else.
