A limited number of the icnos on my desktop move on their own - ie: I do not

move them.

Why does this happen and how can I stop it from happening?

More info please. Do they move when you are watching them, do they move on

a reboot, do they move after changing display settings, or ???????????

Which ones are moving? Is this a real recent problem or is it long

standing?

Have you run full scans of your system with up to date anti virus and

malware (i.e., SpyBot) programs?

Re: Desktop Icons that Move By Themselves

It is a recent problem on this machine - but it happens all the time on my

office machine.

Usually it is the recycle bin and the icon for internet explorer that move

and the movement seems to be associated with the use of pcAnywhere.

I have two anti-spyware programs running all the time and an up-to-date copy

of Norton Protection Centre running at all times.

Hi Steve,

See if Save Settings on Exit helps from line 54:

If needbe, you may also want to try line 188, also on the right hand side:

Thanks Kelly - I'll give both a try. The problem not only occurs at shutdown

but happens during the day when the computer is running.
