You can do it on either CD or DVD, assuming you have a CD/DVD writer.

Main differencie is the amount you can put on them, CD about 700 Mb, and DVD

over 4Gb.

I use Nero to create my CDs and DVDs, and the only difference in procedure

is at the start when I select CD or DVD within Nero depending what disk I

have in the tray.

I usually try to put all the things I am going to put on the CD or DVD into

one top level folder (with other folders underneath) as this makes it easier

to "add" them (you only have to select one folder)

In Nero I select "data" CD, select the top level folder for all the files I

want to backup, then select Burn. It is that easy.

I usually make TWO copies of each CD or DVD as sometimes you get a CD or DVD

you cant read for some reason, so by having 2 copies you have a backup of

your backup.

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message

separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so

just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup

doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for

those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they

see the message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only

once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes everyone's

time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please

do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Please see "Multiposting vs Crossposting" at
