Guest Alberto & Silvia Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Hello,I have noticed that, trying to play videos from YouTube, quite a few will not play in IE6 but they will in Firefox3! As I prefer to use IE6,I am wondering why this is so,I have all the latest updates, and I suspect I need some Add-On but I have not been able to identify the cause of this,I even went to the MS Add-Ons page but I found nothing I could use. Any ideas appreciated! Thanks and regards from Vancouver,Canada Alberto My computer:Dell,Pentium4,1.35 Gb RAM,WinXP Home Edition, high speed internet connection

You don't get any error that says, sorry, can't play this video cause you don't have quicktime ? or something? The one I looked at a few seconds ago is using flash media player. See if you have the latest installed in IE6. But it seems your flash player is broke or not there.
Guest Alberto & Silvia Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 Re: IE6 and Firefox3 I hear you, yes, the message in IE6 is: Sorry, this video is not available anymore.......and also when first trying to open one,it says: "Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. " Then, for the ones that will play I have to hit Refresh or Reload and they will play The ones that won't play will say:Sorry video not available anymore However, every time that I open Firefox and try to play the "no longer available " videos, they will open and play fine (???) Thanks for the response Alberto I have even run the Flash Player debugger, and I have the latest version 9 "Big_Al" <BigAl@md.com> wrote in message news:uFlhUJ53IHA.3384@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Alberto & Silvia wrote: >> Hello,I have noticed that, trying to play videos from YouTube, quite a few >> will not play in IE6 but they will in Firefox3! >> >> As I prefer to use IE6,I am wondering why this is so,I have all the >> latest updates, and I suspect I need some Add-On but I have not been able >> to identify the cause of this,I even went to the MS Add-Ons page but I >> found nothing I could use. >> >> Any ideas appreciated! >> >> Thanks and regards from Vancouver,Canada >> >> Alberto >> My computer:Dell,Pentium4,1.35 Gb RAM,WinXP Home Edition, high speed >> internet connection >> >> > You sure don't give much info. > You don't get any error that says, sorry, can't play this video cause you > don't have quicktime ? or something? > > The one I looked at a few seconds ago is using flash media player.
