Guest MichaelY Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I occasionally get some strange noises through my speakers. They are not any that I could find under the "Sounds" tab on the "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties" menu. Is there a way to trace which program is issuing the sounds?

Guest MichaelY Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Re: strange noises through speakers Doug, Thanks for the quick reply. It's good to know that you are still active for XP what with MS trying to jam Vista down our throats. The noises are not random. They sound like any other system notification sound and the same sounds randomly repeat from one time to the next. I am befuddled. My question remains: How can I trace the originating source of these sounds? First thing I would try; change the "Default Beep" event to "None". Are you still getting the sound? -- Joe =o)
