jontye Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 E-System 3102 laptop will not recognize samsung e2100b phone connection via usb. Latest Samsung studio download installed, tried two differrent usb cables, usb ports work with other devices, tried another Samsung phone. Have been on the merrygoround which goes under the guise of Samsungs website, tried updating device drivers. If I had any hair I would be pulling it out by now. Any suggestions would be welcome. Cheers Jontye. Quote
GRANDAD Posted July 22, 2011 Posted July 22, 2011 Hi, have you tried a different laptop or PC [a friends ect] to establish if its the laptop or phone at fault.? To assist others who may help what system are you using is it a win32bit or win64bit, this can make a difference as to connectivity. Quote
jontye Posted July 24, 2011 Author Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Hi, Thanks for the reply, I've tried, my phone on another laptop, my wifes samsung phone on my laptop and another laptop. all of the usb ports work with other devices. My laptop uses Vista o/s 32bit system the other laptop uses Windows 7 32bit. I THINK !! it's some problem with the driver, but what exactly I don't know. Cheers Jontye. Has anyone used the Driver Boost download that is advertised at the top of this page ? if so did it solve your problem. Jontye. Edited July 24, 2011 by jontye Quote

Personally I steer clear of all such driver programs. I don't have any experience with phones connecting to computers. Are you saying that two Samsung phones are not being seen by two different computers? By the way is this your phone? http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_ia_cd=1903&prd_mdl_cd=GT-E2100MKBCYO&prd_mdl_name=GT-E2100B&srchword=GT-E2100B Quote We are all members helping other members. GRANDAD Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Hi again, I'm not totally sure but its just come back to mind that my son-in-law uses a Sansung phone on his laptop, he also had problems setting up, but he had to install office outlook to enable him to set it up and use it.? something to do with the transfer of data. I will double check with him over the next couple of days and confirm one way or the other. Quote
GRANDAD Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Hi, have spoken to my son-in-law and he also had major problems connecting his Samsung phone to a laptop---this is how he did it-- First download from the Samsung site--NEW PC SUIT 7--and install on your laptop. Switch off your phone and connect to the laptop via usb cable, switch on your phone and it should go from a black screen to a one that shows three [3] options 1-is something like use as photo 2-use AS DATA 3-CONNECT TO PC SUIT Choose this last option [connect to PC suit ] with luck it should work!. Best of luck, Quote
jontye Posted July 29, 2011 Author Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) Hi, Thanks to both RandL and Grandad for the replies, first of all, yes two Samsung phones two seperate laptops (one running Vista one running Windows 7), no joy ! I will try the solution posted by Grandad over the weekend and post the result. Thanks once again, Jontye. Edited July 29, 2011 by jontye Quote
jontye Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Thanks to Grandad's suggestion we have some success, the original problem has not been resolved, but my wifes Samsung GT-S5230 phone is now up and running using the 'New Pc Suite'. Tried the NPS on my laptop which has Vista, wifes phone worked ( after a little messing about ) my E2100B went directly into 'device not recognised' mode. Repeated the NPS on my wifes laptop with Windows7, same result. So the conclusion is that either the E2100B phone is rubbish ie. it has a fault, or it is rubbish ie. the technoligy leaves a great deal to be desired. We learn by our mistakes .... hopefully. Cheers Jontye :(. Quote
GRANDAD Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Maybe you could try a BLUE TOOTH CONNECTION, i would also double check either APPS or SETTINGS as one of these should show some connection method. At least you have some success all be it limited. Quote
GRANDAD Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Having just purchased a Samsung phone then what you require to connect to your PC is the following. On the internet go onto --SAMSUNGAPPS.COM then click on and download KEIS-run and thats it, dont forget to save after transfering music or video ect to your phone. This works for any Samsung phone.
