Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone could help with a problem I'm having. Here goes,

When I leave the computer on and it goes into sleep mode when I come to use it again there is nothing on the screen. After pondering on this for a little while I noticed that the light for the monitor was on but if I switched it off then on again I got a flash of whatever was on the screen previous to the sleep mode. I sometimes have to switch off and on again up to 7 times before the screen stays on. Today for the first time it did it on startup and I had to do the off/on thing 4 times then everything was ok. It has never up to now gone off whilst I am doing something on the pc only when switching on or waking from sleep mode.

Does anyone have any idea of what's happening here or have I got a very lazy monitor.

Thanks for taking time to read this thread and any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi.

Can you try your monitor on another computer or try a different monitor on your computer? This would help determine if it is a monitor issue or another issue.

I can try my monitor on my brothers pc at the weekend but was wondering if there was anything else I could try before that as it's starting to drive me bonkers.
