Guest Al Dykes Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Actually, a friend wants me to "fix" his laptop. There are no icons on the screen. No "My Computer", no recycle bin, nana. I can get there via the "start" button, but I have no idea how the system ha hidden the desktop. I can't find a shortcut to the Recysle icon anywhere. How can I recreate it? Thanks, -- Al Dykes News is something someone wants to suppress, everything else is advertising. - Lord Northcliffe, publisher of the Daily Mail
Guest Avatar Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Re: Where did my desktop and recycle icon go??? Maybe this might help: Right-click on anywhere on the desktop. Take the mouse over "Arrange icons by". On the right panel make sure "Show desktop icons" has a check mark to it. If not click on it once. HTH. Avatar -------

On the menu that appears, look under Arrange Icons By. There should be a check mark next to Show Desktop Icons. If it's not checked click on it put the check mark there. Good luck Nepatsfan
