Guest Yannis Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 hello I have 10 clients with winxp pro sp2 on location A connecting via site-to-site vpn to location B on a TS Server. I have an issue with printing. When one client from location A tries to initiate a print job from his ts session to a printer located on site A which is mapped on TS server with a virtual port (\\ip\printer share name), the print job becomes huge (about 1.6mb a simple test page) and takes ages of course to be printed. A simple test page printed locally takes about 40kb. Any ideas why this happens? is there any solution? thank you
Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Re: slow printing This depends very much on the type of driver used for the printer. Maybe your printer is host based? Check if there is a PCL or PS driver for it. Check this reply by TP, who performed some tests with different types of drivers: http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windows.terminal_se rvices/msg/6e35fa0850aa66f6?hl=en _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ =?Utf-8?B?WWFubmlz?= <Yannis@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote on 08 jul 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > hello > > I have 10 clients with winxp pro sp2 on location A connecting > via site-to-site vpn to location B on a TS Server. > I have an issue with printing. When one client from location A > tries to initiate a print job from his ts session to a printer > located on site A which is mapped on TS server with a virtual > port (\\ip\printer share name), the print job becomes huge > (about 1.6mb a simple test page) and takes ages of course to be > printed.
